No Fee Unless You Win
In Galveston County District Court, Chrysler Group LLC is being sued in a lawsuit stemming from an auto accident that claimed the life of a female passenger and injured her family members. The family of the female passenger alleges the 2005 Dodge Durango they traveled in at the time of the accident was defective and caused the accident.
A husband and wife purchased the Dodge Durango from an individual doing business as Laredo Auto Sales in February of 2012. On March 30, 2012, the husband and wife, along with a female relative, rode in the Durango, with the wife at the wheel.
According to the lawsuit, the family members were traveling in the right lane of a highway when the vehicle’s left rear tire “delaminated causing the vehicle to roll.” The original petition states, “[the husband and wife] were ejected even though they were properly wearing their seat belts.”
The surviving family members stated that they suffered “serious and debilitating” injuries, claiming that the Durango “lacked adequate crashworthiness protection, including but not limited to adequate airbag protection, adequate seat belt restraint systems, rollover occupant protection system and an electronic stability control system.”
The family seeks more than $1 million in damages and a jury trial.
When defective products result in serious injuries and wrongful deaths, it is often necessary and important to pursue legal action against the responsible party. In addition to compensating the victims for the harm and loss they may have suffered, a lawsuit forces the manufacturer to make the product safe, preventing future injuries and saving lives.
