No Fee Unless You Win
If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, the first thing you should do is get medical attention.
The second step is to document the accident thoroughly by taking photos of your vehicle, the other vehicles, the crash scene and your injuries. Also, write down a description of the accident and the extent of your injuries.
The third step is to contact an experienced Austin car accident attorney that can explain your options, including how to recover lost wages from missing work and hospital bills.
According to KXAN, an increasing number of traffic accidents on MoPac since construction work on the roadway began has the Austin Police Department (APD) looking for a solution.
On January 21, the APD deployed one of their helicopters to monitor the construction zone for a more detailed look at traffic and to see if more signs or road features are needed to aid motorists on the roadway.
APD reported that a 12-car pileup on MoPac was only one of several accidents they have responded to since construction began. With all of the changes to the roadway, some drivers have complained that they are confused. The speed limit has already been reduced to 55 mph from RM 2222 to Highway 183, but APD wants to take more steps to increase safety.
Drivers have stated that during certain times of the day, restriping lanes causes confusion about which lane is old and which is new. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Team stated that because of these concerns, they are now working to add reflective buttons to all new lanes along MoPac.
In the meantime, APD says the most important thing to remember when driving on this dangerous stretch of road is not to speed.
