Faces of Drunk Driving, is a new campaign sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. The campaign shows the lasting impact of a drunk driving accident on friends, family and the drunk driver.

Many people do not realize that the Fourth of July holiday is one of the deadliest on American roads, because of the number of alcohol-impaired driving crashes.

Nationwide, impaired driving killed 10,228 people in 2010, according to the NHTSA. In Texas, approximately 1,000 people die each year in alcohol-related accidents.
