August 27, 2012by Aaron Allison

Monday morning commuters were greeted this week with a traffic mess; however, it could have been much worse. Early in the morning, a wreck near Austin involving two 18-wheelers knocked out power to traffic lights.

According to KXAN, the two trucks collided on I-35 near Sam Bass Road. Power lines were damaged in the trucking accident, which cut power to the nearby traffic lights on the north and south frontage road intersections. Crews quickly responded to get the lights back in working order.

Luckily, the accident did not cause any serious injuries. Neither driver needed to go to the hospital. It does not appear that any other cars were involved in the accident. One of the truck drivers did suffer an injury that required treatment at the scene of the accident.
