No Fee Unless You Win
Summer is supposed to be a fun time for many Austin and Travis, Texas, families. Unfortunately, some families suffer a great loss because of drowning incidents. The latest statistics show that 202 children, whose ages range from one to 14 years old, drowned in swimming pools across United States this summer; an equally sad fact is that 28 of those children are from Texas.
The report from the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Administration reported those findings in their annual Submersion Report. So far, their findings have been consistent with statistics already known. Drowning is the number one cause of accidental death among children between ages one and four, while it is the second leading cause of fatality in children ages five to 14 years old. On average, between 2008 and 2010, 390 children younger than 15 years died from drowning. From 2010 to 2012, swimming pool accidents resulted in 5,100 submersion injuries, which required emergency treatment.
